Feel Better with us in Bali! Escape the Canberra winter with a 6 night stay in a tropical oasis, set in the heart of the jungle, yet only a 5 minute car ride away from the centre of Ubud.
The experience
Elevate (or experience for the first time) the Pilates mat work with daily mat Pilates classes. The days are yours to use as you please for sight seeing, cultural experiences, foodie adventures and to indulge in some well-deserved relaxation at our beautiful resort. With an abundance of mind and body rejuvenating activities to choose from, you’ll leave feeling refreshed and energised.
Throughout your retreat you will challenge, deepen and progress your Pilates practice; with the opportunity to attend both early morning and late afternoon classes daily allowing you to manage your energy and take what you need.
With daily breakfasts and three group lunches and dinners catered on site at the beautiful Basundari resort you will be able to find the perfect balance of staying in and going out to experience the gastronomical delights that are abundant on the the island of Bali. As a group we will also visit the local food markets, followed by our own private Balinese cooking class, culminating in a delicious lunch.
You’ll receive a 90 minute massage for some full body bliss at a time of your choosing, and can add on as many additional experiences available on and off-site as you choose (hello aerial-yoga). You’ll also have plenty of time during the day to take refreshing dips in the pools, boost your recovery in the onsite ice bath and/or sauna if that’s your jam, relax, reconnect with yourself and explore this magical island.
The location
Basundari is a resort with views of both the jungle and rice fields. A peaceful oasis in the Balinese district of Ubud and neighbouring the Aksara sound healing temple, everything about Basundari screams (actually it quietly whispers) relaxation and restoration. With 10 guest rooms and a maximum of 20 retreat attendees plus your host, Jordana, the venue will be exclusively ours for the duration of the Feel Better in Bali retreat.

Free time, pool vibes or tour time. Pre-arranged lunch can be eaten at the resort or head out for some local eats.

All classes are optional, so if you’re in the mood for a sleep in or a poolside reading sesh go for it!

Please note Villa Mewa is the dedicated host room for retreats and is not available for retreat guests to book.
In order to secure your room please send us an email with your room preference (we recommend you list up to 3 preferred rooms) and whether you intend to share your room or stay in a private room. If twin sharing please provide the name and email address of your intended room mate. We will then provide a payment link and instructions for securing your room with a $250 non-refundable deposit.
Rooms will be allocated on a first come, first served basis however a room is not considered secured until we have received the your non-refundable deposit. You will have 5 calendar days to secure your spot and then it will be offered to the next person in line. Once a room is secured we can establish a payment plan at your preferred intervals, noting that 30% of accommodation costs must be received by end of 2023, 50% by end February 2024 and 100% of costs must be received by 20 April 2024.
Payment for any additional onsite meals, tours or experiences will be required 14 days prior to departure. Additional spa treatments can be arranged during your stay and paid for by you at time of checkout.
Additional experiences
There are a number of additional experiences available to guests that can be booked prior to our arrival. Your tour or experience preferences can be confirmed any time up until three weeks prior to departure and payment will be due two weeks prior to departure.
Not listed but also available are acro-yoga and meditation experiences. Please let us know if this is something you would like to participate in and we will arrange pricing.
To assist you in planning any additional experiences you may wish to book we will provide confirmed dates and times for those included activities that will be shared by the whole group e.g. Balinese cooking class prior to requiring confirmation of extra activities. Should you want to eat additional lunches and/or dinners at the resort they also request these be confirmed in advance.

How do I secure my spot?

If you’re interested in a twin share but don’t have someone to retreat with just let us know and we will do our best to match you up with someone else also looking for a twin share.
Can my partner or non-Pilates friend come?
You are more than welcome to elect to twin share a room with your partner and they will receive all the inclusions. They may elect not to participate in Pilates classes if it’s not their jam.
Can my kid come?
Due to the small and intimate nature of the accommodation this one is strictly for grown ups. Enjoy!
Do I need a visa to enter Bali for the retreat?
Closer to departure we will remind you that you can complete an e-Visa before you travel, however you can also complete this at Customs if you forget.
Do I need to have mat Pilates experience or have a regular fitness routine to attend?
Nope! All we ask is that you come with an open mind and a willingness to try. We’ll assist with any layers or modifications you might like to make it the best experience for you.
Can special dietary requirements be accommodated?
Of course! By default the resort can cater easily for vegetarian, pescatarian or omnivorous eaters however if you have allergies or preferences for vegan diet this can also be catered to and we will confirm in the lead up to the retreat.
What if I need to cancel? Will I get a refund?
If you cancel before the end of 2023 any monies paid aside from your $250 non-refundable deposit will be returned. If you cancel more than 70 days prior but less than 180 days prior to the retreat you will forfeit 30% of your full accommodation cost. Cancellations under 70 days but more than 60 days before the retreat will forfeit 50% of your accommodation cost.
We cannot offer refunds for cancellations less than 60 days prior to the retreat.
